Nicole Ussia – Art Teacher
Nicole is a relatively new face in Santa Cruz. She was born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended college at the world-renowned Savannah College of Art in Design in Georgia. After deciding that both art AND education were her passions, she finished out her college career at Hofstra University on Long Island, NY majoring in art education.
Her career took her to Newport News, Virginia where she worked art in a public high school for four years, teaching everything from digital art and wire sculpture to printmaking and painting. She also spent a lot of her time volunteering at the local art museum. Both experiences allowed her to develop strategies for teaching art to all different age groups and levels.
Her husband's job brought them to the Santa Cruz area in the fall of 2012. Nicole loves the inspiring scenery, culture, and people that Santa Cruz has to offer and is enjoying incorporating it all into her own personal artwork.

Lynn Jaye - Fine Art
Lynn Jaye has been an artist ever since she was five years old. Born and raised in
London, England, she was first introduced to painting by her cousin who showed her the
simple art of "painting by numbers". The fascination she felt for this new experience led to a life-long passion in the study of line, form, shape and color.
After studying at three major London art colleges, Jaye embarked on a seven-year
worldwide tour, working and painting along the way, and arrived in Santa Cruz in 1981.
She was in awe of the local landscape and decided to stay. Recommencing her studies in art and design, she worked first in graphic and then interior design, painting and drawing in her spare time. She began to sell her work in 1987 and became a full-time artist in 1990.
Jaye's paintings have evolved from oil and watercolor into large, colorful, acrylic
landscapes and mixed media on canvas. She paints in a neo-impressionist style,
reminiscent of the Pointillists and Post-Impressionists. Her unique technique produces a
textural effect of shimmering light and color. Motifs include panoramic landscapes of
California, Tuscany and Provence; Mediterranean harbors and contemporary florals. The viewer is drawn into a world of beauty and serenity to enjoy a romantic and joyful
Lynn sells her work at Art and Wine Festivals locally and throughout the San Francisco
Bay and East Bay. She participates in the Santa Cruz County Open Studios and has
received many awards. Her work hangs in collections both nationally and internationally.
Her online gallery, www.lynnjaye.com displays a comprehensive view of her whole collection, from available originals to limited edition gicleé prints on canvas.
Catarina Hosler - Multi-Media Artist
Catarina runs a small, intimate design studio, based in Santa Cruz, CA. She focuses mainly on producing commissioned
fine art work. Her art studies included neon sculpture, metal working, and design. Metal is effectively used to enhance
her one-of-a-kind neon pieces, as seen in her series of large,
three dimensional metal works pierced with images from nature.
literally lights up these images from within, illuminating the beauty of
a coral or a leaf or a jelly fish. Furthermore, her message is also environmental as
she runs a "green studio," works in a recycled metal studio and utilizes solar power.
